Just in case you haven’t already seen this commercial – I am featuring it in my blog this Holiday season.
Underneath the heartfelt, tear-jerking message, is the joy we felt hearing the music they used to bring their message home.
Thanks Chevrolet! We already knew that John Denver wrote the sound track of our lives…..it’s about time this is recognized by big media advertisers and the rest of the world.
Watch. Listen. Enjoy.
Happy Holidays!
That was perfectly beautiful
It doesn’t get much better than this! Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Hope to see you soon.
Miriam
Merry Christmas Miriam!
Why did I find myself crying? John Denver, and his music still touches the heart….Thank you Jim and Anne for keeping it alive and vibrant for all the rest of us to enjoy! Merry Christmas!
Brought back memories of sad times with mom. Only wish we had been able to have an experience like that of the Chevrolet commercial. Thank you for sharing.
Anne, This is great ! I haven’t seen it on TV yet so thanks for sharing this ! I’m going to share it with the owner of the Chevy dealership I work at ! I’m sure she’ll love it – esp with the JD song in it !!
What a beautiful and touching commercial with Sunshine playing in the background! A real tear jerker. Thanks for sharing our love of John Denver!!
It just gives you chills!
Loved this commercial and really, really enjoyed your Christmas show here in Gilbert! John’s music never grows old and is still so relatable for so many. In fact, Jim mentioned in your show how John is the only singer songwriter to have had two of his songs honored to become official state songs. But wait…..there’s more (you probably already know this, but just in case!), “Take Me Home, Country Roads” has also been adapted by fans of the Manchester Union football team of the English Premier League as their official song. They changed the lyrics, of course, to “Take Me Home, United Road,” but it’s still very cool to hear 70,000 people singing it during Man United matches. Happy New Year!
Hi Mark! It’s also cool to hear the 7th inning stretch at the Baltimore Oriole games!!
Anne,
I just ball over and over again when I see this video…I love that John’s song (or any music) brought back that lady’s memory….We have a group called the Kitchen Band, they go to the nursing homes and “music does” stir something inside that nothing else can.
Fron what I read, you guys have been busy again during the holidays and I remember those aluminum Christmas tree, my great aunt had one, but thank goodness my folks had “evergreen” trees in those days. Like all “old things” they come back in style! Ha.
Maybe we will too?????? What do you think?
Have a blessed holiday season and our thoughts and prayers for a happy, healthy 2024!
Keep the music alive!
Carol/Dennis Devlin
Hi Carol! I hope we all ‘stay in style’ for a few more years!!
I havent seen it on TV. Great with John Denver music.
I think this only played online…it’s much too long for a television commercial.
When I saw this commercial I immediately thought of you guys – So glad you saw it too!
Blessings to you both!
Bob
Hi Bob! Thanks for thinking of us! Hope you are doing well!
Hi Anne,
Thank you so much this very inspiring video. I immediately shared it on our family texting chain and on my Facebook page. I do have a confession to make though: I did not come to appreciate the beauty of “Sunshine on My Shoulders” until I heard the opera singer, Denyce Graves’s version of it on the “Great Voices Sing John Denver” album. I then became a fan of JD himself singing the song, especially on the spectacular “Wildlife Concert” album.and video.
Hi Noreen! You are so right, Denyce Graves did an amazing version of “Sunshine” on “Great Voices” she is so lovely and talented! Isn’t it interesting that you entered into the John Denver world through that door?? I couldn’t imagine liking opera singers singing John’s songs but I was SO WRONG! I love “Great Voices” and wish every JD fan had the opportunity to see/hear that DVD, if only purely for hearing the accolades the singers had for the music John wrote!
